Abhyanga, Podikizhi, Udvartana, Shirodhara, Sarvangadhara, Padabhyanga, Navarakkizhi, Kati Basti, Shiroabhyagna, Pichu. For these mysterious words is hidden ancient massage techniques used in conjunction with Indian aromatic oils, herbs and spices. A selection of tools for massage rituals are selected individually. All the massages are performed by two therapists, starting with the traditional washing of the feet.
Abhyanga (1 hour 15 minutes)
During Abhyanga guest’s body is covered with a special mixture of medicinal oils and herb . The recipe for massage oil is made individually for each guest. In addition to the deep relaxing effect of the procedure, the procedure is very useful for the skin, spine and joints. Abhyanga nourishes and rejuvenates the skin and deep tissues of the body, as well as the release of toxins from the cells.
Abhyanga helps to heal the psychological trauma after exposure of the external or internal self-destructive energy, eliminate aura’s defects after diseases, if conducting public way of life or psycho-emotional overload; eliminates messy and uncontrolled outflow of energy.
Shirodhara (120 min)
Shirodhara is one of the most famous Ayurvedic treatments. In Sanskrit, “shiro” means “head”, and “dhara” means “flow”, that is libation of medicinal oils on the guest’s forehead in the area of so-called “third eye”. Shirodhara is one of the world’s best procedures that promote relaxation, relieve stress, normalize sleep and improves the condition of the hair.
Podikizhi (1 hour 30 minutes)
A full body massage using special sacs, called “Kizhi” which contain individually selected blend of herbs and spices. After a half-hour Abhyanga treatment guest is massaged with “Kizhi”, during which the skin absorbs all the medicinal ingredients of herbs and spices. There is a splitting of fat, active detoxification, deep relaxation of the body.
Udvartana (1 hour 30 minutes)
Udvartana means «to take up» or «rise» in Sanskrit; and owes its name to the soft upward strokes used during the procedure which is not very typical for other Ayurvedic massages. Udvartana is performed by two therapists using special herb powders; individually chosen for each guest. Soft herbal peeling is followed by a smooth massage and steam bath.
Njavarakizhi (1 hour 30 minutes)
Njavarakizhi means “rice compressions”. Njavara is a sort of rice which is used in Ayurveda since ancient times for its exceptional nutritional value. First; rice is prepared with a milk and herbal potion; then made into balls and tied into linen pouches. The treatment begins with a body massage; using herbal oils chosen for the guest; and then two therapists apply warm rice compressions.
Sarvangadhara (1 hour 30 minutes)
A full body massage with herbal oils that cleanses your body; nourishes it and slows down its aging. During this treatment herbal oils are anointed in a single continuous stream over the entire body; followed by a soft and slow massage.
Padabhyanga (45 min)
This (Indian) foot massage improves eyesight and sleep, eases tension, softens foot skin, normalizes blood pressure and foot sweat glands function. The marma (vital) energy points are massaged which gives balance to your dosha and is very helpful for people with insomnia, fatigue and cramps.
Shiroabhyanga (45 min)
Head massage using a mixture of natural herbal oils which has a strong relaxing effect.
Kativasti (30 min)
Back massage with warm herbal oil, chosen individually for each guest. Helps to improve the condition of the muscles and ligaments that support the spine, nourishing the joints, relieves pain in the lower part of the back.
Pichu (45 minutes)
A traditional treatment to relieve joint tension; includes hot medicinal herbal oils that are gently applied to the aching joints; helping to dissolve pain and discomfort. For the best results three sessions are recommended.
