Belgorod-Dnestrovsky has a rich, more than 2500-year history and is one of the most ancient cities not only in Ukraine, but also in the world. Tira, Belgorod, Levkopol, Akkerman, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky – under these names the city has been known for centuries. In addition to the remains of the ancient city of Tyra and the medieval fortress, other historical monuments have been preserved in the city: the “Scythian grave”, the medieval Armenian Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (XIV century), the New Greek Church of John the Baptist (XIII-XVI centuries), the source of St. John of Sochava ( New) and others.
