Private residence where Londonskaya Hotel initially was located was built under the project of architect F.K.Boffo in style of the early Italian Renaissance in 1826-1827.
Londonskaya Hotel welcomed the first visitors in 1846. Jean-Batiste Karuta, the well-known French confectioner and epicure became the creator and first owner of the hotel. As all the “patriotic” French names were already taken by the other hotels, Karuta turned his look to foggy Great Britain and Londonskaya hotel appeared in Odesa.

After the first capital renovation of Londonskaya hotel in 1899-1900 under the project of the architect J.M. Dmitrenko there were added many beautiful features which still exist today.

For its long history Londonskaya Hotel has hosted such a famous guests as Anton Chekhov and Isidora Duncan, Robert Stevenson and George Simenon, Marchello Mastroiani and Alexander Kvasnevskiy and many others.
